Capabilities Statement:
Frischhertz is one of the largest electrical contractors in the Greater New Orleans region, serving clients across the Gulf South, but we trace our origins back to a two-desk office space in Mid-City, New Orleans. Our headquarters now encompass nearly an entire city block in our original Mid-City neighborhood.
In 1951, Bernard C. Frischhertz, Sr., an experienced electrician at Avondale Shipyards, decided to go into business for himself. His two brothers invested and helped out part time. Eventually, Bernard hired his daughter Joan to handle the bookkeeping and manage the office. As word of Bernard’s talent, integrity, and devotion to his customers spread, so did demand for the company’s services. More electricians and support staff came into the Frischhertz fold. Bernard’s three sons, Bernard Jr., Jim and Steve, joined the firm in the 1960’s and took over management of the company in 1975. Each has served as President: Bernard Jr. from 1975 to 1991, Jim from 1991 to 2015 and Steve from 2015 to 2019.
Bernard Sr.’s grandson, Kevin Frischhertz, currently serves as President. There are now seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild of Bernard C Frischhertz, Sr. actively working in and leading the company, all born and raised in New Orleans.
Frischhertz prides itself on being a family owned and operated company. This attitude of family extends to our team members who remain a dedicated asset to the company, and contribute to its longevity and success. Bernard’s legacy lives on in the values that he instilled in his children and company: hard work, quality job performance, and accountability.
