San Antonio, Texas — Employee owned Alterman, Inc., one of San Antonio’s oldest and largest electrical and data communication contractors, today announced that the company and its employees are finalists for three awards presented by the San Antonio Hispanic Contractors Association, including the Impact Award and Partner Award, as well as the MVP Award for Project Manager Harvey Zapata.
Mr. Zapata was nominated based on his significant contribution of volunteer time, talents and service toward fostering diversity within the industry. He has been involved in numerous projects that have enhanced the local community by providing electrical services to non-profit organizations.
Alterman was nominated for the Impact Award based on its efforts to bring diversity to the construction industry in San Antonio. Alterman’s involvement as a mentor through the AGC/Bexar County mentorship program is key to the nomination.
The nomination for the Partner Award is based on Alterman’s commitment to equality, inclusiveness, diversity and multiculturalism in the construction industry. Each year Alterman surpasses national averages in the construction industry for diversity in the work place.
Alterman participates in many of San Antonio’s Chambers of Commerce, including San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in an effort to promote San Antonio’s growth. The company also serves in leadership roles in the local chapters of the American Subcontractors Association (ASA), Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the Hispanic Contractor’s Association (HCA) to advance the construction industry in San Antonio.
